THREE BEST PRACTICES FOR APPROVING A STRAIN

1. Best Practices for Approving a Strain in your Account: Our system is optimized for tissue, so for best results we recommend that you send tissue samples for each expected/possible genotype as your controls. You can send a different piece of tissue from a known animal or take a new biopsy, split it and genotype side by side with Transnetyx. But, if all you have are liquid controls, no problem, just let us know.

2. Before approving your strain, you should see a positive and negative result (+ or -) for each probe on the strain. (For SNP probes all 3 results types +/+, +/-, -/-). In addition, you should be sure you are getting all possible combinations of genotypes (or combination of results).

3. Once you have validated your strain, mark the strain “Approved” so that you know your validation is complete. Go to your My Strains page in your account where you can view the status of all your strains and click a strain name to approve each assay.
